Beginning of 2015

2015 started off with a bang. I'm guessing that is the way things are going to be from here on out with a family of 6. Five of those being boys :) We celebrating Miles first birthday then started right into the new year with new fun. I really do enjoy this crazy, busy life and LOVE being the mom of these little guys. Would I change a few things, yeah. Like maybe have a house cleaner, laundry finisher and cook :) All kidding aside, this is right where I want to be. So, a little recap of the start of our new year. May it be full of family, laughter, learning and a little craziness!

Typical random day and Trudie is always wanting more attention. Poor girl is kind of the last to get cuddles from us. But I think the boys keep her on her toes during the day.

I got to have a lunch date with this guy after a field trip. Max still wants to be Batman when he grows up and I'm thinking he just may be able to pull it off.
Pinewood Derby!!! With Mason just starting Cub Scouts this year, this was our first Pinewood Derby experience. We are loving Cub Scouts. Mason enjoys it every week, they have so many fun activities and the entire family is always welcome. It was so much fun seeing Brad work with Mason and Max to get there cars ready.

Mason took home second in his age group and Max got first in the sibling category!

I LOVE this picture!

Trophies!
And then this happened...he took off! It's a bit difficult to take a picture of a moving object. The beginning of February marked my "no sitting down again" phase of life :)
All that walking wears you out!
Patching...
Last year in Kindergarten Mason starting to talk about how it was hard to see in school. So, we had his eyes examined and wouldn't you know he couldn't see very well. It ends up, he has one eye that is weaker than the other and doesn't focus as well. We started with glasses but now this year we ended up going to a specialist because the current glasses weren't doing the trick. So, now he gets to wear a patch every day when he gets home from school over one eye. The specialist is not sure how long he will have to do the patching or even if it will work. But for now, we are going to play a lot of pirate at our house!

Mason, "little" Mason and Max at Pirate school in Columbus.

Then there was only one in diapers! Matthew decided one morning when he woke up he was going to wear big boy underwear from now on. I was excited and bummed at the same time. I mean only ONE kid in diapers at our house. Sweet! Then I remembered how much time I was going to be spending in the bathroom with this guy. But, he is AWESOME! He made up his mind he wanted to do it and he has (a trait I'm hoping sticks with him!). I am so proud of him and this big accomplishment. And I say he's just a little excited about his Paw Patrol underwear!

Love that I got to spend time with Mason and he's school Valentine Party. So thankful for Brad for coming home to watch the little ones so I could go. It is so much fun to see him in his school element. We are so proud of all his accomplishments!
A Saturday morning at the library!
Basketball and Beyond...
Mason ended his second year playing basketball. He loves it and is already looking forward to next year. He has grown so much since last year and has improved in his self-confidence and basketball skills. Max is already asking to play. I really can't say enough good things about this program. Looking forward to next year!

 Snow Days!!!
It did not snow hardly at ALL during the winter months of December or January. Our big snows came in February and March. Thanks goodness for the boys though. They were itching for some playing in the snow! I'm ready for it to end now :)

We had off about 4 days in a row for snow. But we managed to keep ourselves busy...sort of!

Thank goodness of playdough

 Winter blues...
This little guy has had a rough winter with ear infections, cold and flu. So..we stayed in a cuddled when we could.

Probably because this is his typical morning nap. Sorry, Miles! It's tough being the fourth kid.

We visited the Kidscommons a bunch over the cold two January and February months.

Finally, Mason and I went rollerskating with his Cub Scout troop. Not sure why Brad volunteered me for this event :) It was Mason's first time rollerskating and by the end of the night he was off on his own. Away from the sides and making turns like he had been doing this for a while. He has already asked when we can go back. Thankfully, he didn't fall too much and I managed to stay on the skates the entire night. Not sure I should push my luck with that again but I'm not sure we can talk Mason out of wanting to go again :)

We are ready for Spring!!
