Indiana Boy!

One thing I love about summertime is corn-on-the-cob.  I love stopping at farmers stands on the side of the road to get fresh sweet corn.  It reminds me of growing up!!  Mason was/is a picky eater.  He is getting better at trying new things but just doesn't want to budge from his favorites.  Brad would say he's like me but I beg to differ.  If you saw my toddler pictures you would see I liked eating just about anything!  But, from the stories I heard, Brad wasn't such the outgoing eater growing up! The debate is ongoing. Max, on the other hand, will eat just about anything.  He hasn't been eating well lately since he is finally getting all of his teeth.  But, this weekend he must have gotten his appetite back.  He LOVED corn-on-the-cob.  The next day he even ate breakfast making crunchy noises like he was eating the corn. So cute!  We could resist getting pictures of this!
First try!
After his first try, he wanted daddy's.  Almost as big as he is!

Rainy day Artwork

Those who really know me know I am not the artist of the family.  That gene seemed to pass me and go straight to Brandi.  It was a big joke growing up that it took the art teacher 4 years to teach me to draw a tree.  That being said, that is about the only thing I can draw.  So, I thought it was pretty smart of me to come of with a art project for the boys to do since it was raining.  To my great delight, they spent almost an hour gluing pieces of construction paper to poster paper.  Who knew a little glue and paper could be so much fun!  Maybe I can groom them to do a little better in art class than I did!

Final projects...and yes, they still have their jammies on!  What better to do on a rainy day :)

Movie Time!

Since the weather was cloudy we decided to take the boys to see the new Cars movie.  That and since Mason saw the previews on tv he has been asking over and over again to see it.  The movie was okay, I like the first one better but it is fun to see Mason re-acting some of the scenes with his cars when we got home.  Both boys did pretty good during the movie.  I do believe thanks to the popcorn!!  It was fun doing a family movie day, although we won't be doing a lot considering the price of things now.  It sure does make me feel old that I remember movies being $3.00 to get in and now it's $6.50 for the matinee.  Oh well, it's the memories right!

They look really happy don't they!

Nature Walk

So we decided to get out early this morning to beat the heat and the rain.  I thought it would be a great idea to go for a nature walk and see what kind of nature things we could find.  This is what Mason decided insisted on he wear.  I thought it was totally blog worthy :)
Mason loves his backpack!

What we've been up to!

We had a fun and busy weekend.  It was fun celebrating Father's day (I think Brad had fun!) and we also got to travel to Marshall to celebrate Tyler's 7th birthday.  We got to eat strawberries and fish at G.G's, and have cake at Grandma and Grandpa Moore's.  The boys were so tired from the excitement  they almost fell asleep before the cake was served.  But no worries, once they saw it was time to eat they perked up in no time!  On a side note, one of these days I'm going to figure out how to work the print/picture program Brad got for me for Christmas and make the pictures smaller and in groups.  Guess I'm going to have to buy one of those "Photoshop for Dummies" books.  Anyhow, here are a few shots from the weekend.

Love this pic of the cousin's!

Our new favorite pastime, FISHING!!

(Brandon and Tyler showing us how it's done)

Mason found this at Grandma's. We had left it there the last time we visited.  Since he found "Patches", the dog has not left his sight.  Patches has been on walks, bike rides, to the store and sleeps with Mason at night.  He also has prompted the age old kid question "Mom, when can I have a real doggy?"

Both boys have loved riding this tractor.  Max was so excited he finally is big enough to put some real miles on it!

All worn out!

You scream, I scream, We all scream for ICE CREAM!

What a wonderful weekend! Maybe it was the weather or maybe it was because we got to spend a weekend together no one working, no one traveling. Saturday we spent a great day at the park.  The boys loved it!  It was a little warm so we treated ourselves to ice cream after. I thought $.50 for an ice cream cone was a great deal.  So, we let the boys have their own.  They did a pretty good job I think.

Big kids like it too!

Weekend Happenings

This weekend was a nice relaxing weekend at home!  By relaxing I mean trying to get all the things done around the house that needed to be done because we have been busy during the week.  Relaxing has now taken on a whole new meaning! We did however have a few fun moments. We had the neighbors over for a cookout since they were busy building a new treehouse.  Yeah, call it bribery since we are hoping that by inviting them over for dinner they are able to finish the treehouse sooner thus allowing our kids to spend more time at their house :) I did though get this cute pic of the kiddos on their picnic.

Emma and Mason
(oh no, it's started already!)

Brad spent a spent a good deal of time washing the plane.  I do say it did need a good washing.  Funny though for the poor guy, it seems like the birds have the plane on target.  Not long after being all clean they come and mess it up!

Cleaning is a messy job!

Finally, it looks like we're getting new neighbors.  Or, should I say roommates.  We really never thought someone would build on the lot behind our house but it looks like that might be the case.  Let's just hope they like us.  We're going to be close, really close!

The view of the construction from our back patio!
