Memorial Weekend Memories

On such a great weekend that celebrates those who do/have done so much for so many, we made a few new memories of our own.  Often we go to my grandparents' cabin for a weekend of camping out, fishing and smores (yum!).  But, as the weather has been a little on the rainy side this year :) the cabin was flooded and is now in need of some small repairs.  Oh, who are we kidding, major re-construction!  So, even though we were not at the cabin, I think we had a pretty fun weekend!

First we headed down to Southern Indiana for my cousin's graduation party (congrats, Zack!).  My grandparent's live next to a railroad track so the boys thought they were staying at the coolest place ever. We had to stop whatever we were doing once we heard the train whistles.  I'm sure we stopped and watched at least 10 or 15 while we were there for a whole 24 hours!

This was the usual spot for the boys when a train was coming through!

If you know my dad, you know you can often find him late a night searching around for his before bedtime snack. It is often, ice cream! Mason loved this idea and I just loved these pics of the two sharing a late night tradition!

On Sunday the boys were outside playing with their fishing poles and Brad asked them if they wanted to go fishing for real some time.  Well, wouldn't you know, we woke up Monday morning and Mason was ready to go fishing.  The kid doesn't forget a thing!  So, we packed up, bought some worms and headed to the watering hole!  It was a lot of fun and all my boys (old and young) really enjoyed the time fishing.  We even got Max to be able to reel in by himself.  I think they're hooked (ha, ha)!  And yes, we did catch a fish!

Here are some of my favorite moments of the trip.
