I'ts a Parade!

This past weekend was the start of the Johnson County Fair.  You know how it's fair time...because it's HOT!!  It doesn't matter where you are, Southern Illinois or Indiana, when it's fair week it's the hottest week of the year.  I love fair week because it reminds me of growing up.  Brandi and I were in 4-H for as long as I can remember. This week always reminds me of the 4-H pledge (yes I still remember it), panicking to get your projects done even though you've had all year to complete them and fair food!   It is so fun for me to see the kids now enjoying the 4-H fair too.  The fun thing about the fair in Franklin is there is a parade that starts off the week.  So, we packed up the boys and headed downtown in the heat for the parade.  The boys LOVED it!  Of course it helps that some of their favorite things are tractors and fire trucks!  Oh, and did I mention they love the fact that you can get free candy!  These kids certainly didn't miss out on getting the goods!  Here's to hoping next year is a little cooler!

 Fire Trucks!!

The parade can wear you out too.  Mason was so sleepy he nearly fell asleep in the truck in the 5 minutes it took to make it home.  I couldn't help but document his ability to try to stay awake!

Finally asleep!
